The Association for Machines and Mechanism, India, is the Indian national affiliate of the International Federation for the Promotion of Mechanism and Machine Science, IFToMM. The main objective of AMM is to contribute to mechanical design at all levels starting from academic projects to industrial production, thus enhancing the quality and the reliability of indigenous machines. AMM organises the International and National Conference on Machines and Mechanisms (iNaCoMM) and the workshop on Industrial Problems on Machines and Mechanisms (IPRoMM) regularly.

To bring cohesion between other similar societies, an alliance/confluence of Association for Machines and Mechanism (AMM), Indian Society of Mechanical Engineering (ISME) and The Robotics Society (TRS) has been agreed upon by the boards of the respective societies. These allow the societies to help each other in their activities. More details are in Annexure of AMM GBM (2024).
